In the Leo reading, I mentioned Jamie Wheal’s quote, “Fuck your journey”, and promised I’d explain it more here. The idea comes from his book ‘Recapture the Rapture: Rethinking God, Sex and Death in a World That’s Lost its Mind’. Wheal uses this phrase to challenge the tendency to stay stuck in our personal narratives - whether it’s the stories of our breakdowns or even our breakthroughs.
The point isn’t to dismiss our journeys but to remind us that growth is what really matters. It’s about moving forward, showing how far we’ve come, rather than endlessly revisiting the same stories. It’s a call to get out of our heads and into the world, letting go of the need to keep processing and to start living.
Hence the title – to re-engage with life and go out on the hunt and not be haunted by things that really don’t even matter to us any more. This comes from the music that came up for you this season. This leads me to share the second thing I promised – the story of the black jaguar. What follows is the account I shared on Discord on 29th December 2024.
I had black jaguar show up last night. I've been taking it all in the last couple of days (actually, the last couple of months), and there is a lot to take in. It's a long story...But yesterday evening, after about 3 weeks I made some music. Just instrumental music - I was sharing from a place that, as yet, hasn't found words to express.
I created 8 pieces of just music I called (in the order I made them): Surrender, A Friend In Need, Innocence, Window Seat, Heart, Later, Stars, One More.
They were quick and easy to make, and I wasn't looking to do anything other than create a playlist for when I am reading books. The 9th song felt different. I started to think of rain, thunder and storms, my happy place, and started there. I went with the song, wherever it took me. It took a couple of hours, but I ended up with 'Hunter Not The Hunted'.
If you know me, then you know my fave animals - elephants, orcas and wolves. My fave continent is Africa and I could see myself living in Kenya easily, or in a log cabin in northern Europe. So when something comes from me, I draw on my preferences. When it comes through me, I get all kinds of goodies I would never have chosen myself. Anyway, I've been doing this too long not to instantly feel the difference.
That's how I knew, as I listened to this piece of music: I found myself in the Amazon jungle and could feel jaguar energy. I would usually have used the word panther to describe the black creature that was in the thick foliage, but black jaguar came to mind.
The journey with black jaguar has just begun, but here are some of my initial findings that brought me some easing in a time of great discomfort:
The day before, I had pulled a Lenormand quick read for myself and the Coffin clarified by the Sun stood out to me, and I had been holding that message in my heart and I feel as though black jaguar came in response to that.
I do think now, that Coffin and Sun is Sun conjunct Pluto.
