This reading very much doubles as an intro to Cancer Season.
The 'Sword of Damocles' has long been used as a metaphor for the pressure and constant worry that leaders and those in power face. I'm using it here in a more personal sense and to refer to the 'new normal' of where we worry about terrorism, war, pandemics, job-loss, food insecurity, homelessness that mean we have no personal power, but are at the whim of events outside of our control.
This means we can't hear the voice of our own inner voice and navigation. No wonder we feel powerless. Cancer energy can help us to reconnect with that inner voice, understand it for what it is and find our way home.
